The location was excellent.
The room was fine; met all needs.
The desk staff was horrible; lazy, uninformative; begrudgingly willing to even talk to you.
Room staff was great, quite the opposite.
Hotel suggests they have a bar; they don’t. They have full bottles to sell. They also comp absolutely nothing; everything is an up charge.
Despite the convenience of the location, unlikely to stay here again.
It was a beautiful hotel. Clean. Welcoming and friendly staff. Best option for having a unique New Orleans hotel without breaking the bank. It was walking distance from the French Quarter. The room was comfy, and we enjoyed the little radio playing jazz from a local radio station. It was a very enjoyable stay!
There is charm to this old hotel. It is in a good location. The ceilings are very high. There are fewer issues than you would expect in an older hotel. The elevators are pretty fast. I'm not sure if this hotel would work well if you are in a wheel chair. You have to use your electronic key to enter the building which is pretty high up in my opinion and would be hard to reach, but it is nice to have that security. The staff is friendly. The room was clean. The toilet did wobble. The faucet looks good but of low quality. They do charge $6 per bottle of water if you drink it.
Pros: Pretty central location, can easily walk to most places, room has mini fridge + sitting area, was quiet, rooms and hotel are nicely decorated.
Cons: There were various different staff members at the front desk during our stay. They are usually friendly and greeted us warmly. However, one day I arrived to my room and found the entire bed and carpet soaking wet. There was water leaking from the ceiling and it looked like it was caving in. I had to text the front desk since there is no phone. I didn't get any reply so I then went downstairs to address the issue. They re-assign me to another room. No offer to help move all my belongings nor do I get any discount. While not required, the little things like this make a difference to me.
I liked that the entry door was only able to be entered by guest using their room key. I felt safe and comfortable in the hotel.
Great boutique hotel! Very trendy, very CLEAN place with high ceilings and neat decor. Loved the fact we were able to get one of the rooms with no windows. This prevents those partying till the break of dawn from disturbing you. It also let us sleep in without even the hint of daylight to wake us if we didn't get in until dawn. They also have posted quiet hours.
The host, Nesha, had a great attitude and smile. She was always helpful with our questions and made great suggestions.
The Pelham is a short walk from most New Orleans activities but tucked on a side street so your stay isn't bothered with most of the revelry.
The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect! It's so close to the casino, the aquarium, the Waterfront and then just cross the street walk two blocks down and you're right on bourbon! But seriously though everything you could need for a stay in New Orleans is very very close to this hotel but yet far enough away that you can get some good sleep without being interrupted by The Nightlife! The only problems I would say we had in our 4-day stay was their website mentioned a cafe where you can eat and drink. It is not in the hotel it is at the red slipper which is right next to the hotel in the same building. They open at 7:00 get there quick they fill it fast! On the website it looks as if they have their own bar their own dining area and then a separate lounge space, it's all in the same room. But it is decorated exactly as the picture show it is very pretty! Old school Hollywood Vibes for sure! We got there late and I will say we weren't greeted with the friendliest of attitudes, almost as if we were a burden arriving at 11:00 p.m.. the website also mentioned we would be offered a welcome drink that didn't happen. The rooms were quite nice the height of the ceilings make the room feel a little bigger than it actually is but it's very quiet which is what we liked the most about it. After being on Bourbon Street all day you need a quiet place to escape to! The decor was very pretty the whole hotel tied into a theme quite nicely, funky art everywhere which was nice! It was a good hotel and I would definitely go back just based on the location, availability, and decor.
I did not like that the housekeeping staff only replenished towles and changed the trash cans. My bed was made once out of a five day stay.
